1-1 Counselling
Counselling Can provide help and support.
Counselling may be defined as providing help and support for the client, creating a climate of acceptance and assisting the client to explore, understand and act.
(a) Providing help and support, and an understanding listener for someone who is concerned or
perplexed.
(b) Creating a climate so that the client feels accepted, non-defensive, and able to talk freely about
himself and his feelings.
(c) Helping the client to gain clearer insight into himself and his situation so that he is better able to
help himself, and draw on his resources.
Counselling is therefore concerned with human relationships, either your relationship with another person or persons or yourself.
If I need counselling. Does that mean I'm mentally ill...?
Not at all. Seeking help is a sign of strength. Talking now may help prevent your difficulties escalating.Mental well being is as important as physical health. Sometimes emotional pain can be manifested as physical symptoms such as headaches, panic attacks and other pains. Once feelings are heard and the root cause unearthed the physical symptoms often disappear.
What sort of problems can I talk about...?
The most important thing is to talk about what is bothering you. Even when you don't quite know what that is .Your counsellor will listen carefully and focus on you how you feel about your difficulties and help you to begin to see how you can the changes that you want in your life.
Common problems brought to counselling...
Loss, bereavement, life changes, depression, relationship difficulties, anxiety, stress, sexuality, abuse, anger and frustration, feelings of inadequacy, despair and coping with illness.
Session are 50 minutes Long at £40 pounds (per session) prefered to contract 6 sessions at one time also Concessions for Corporate work & people in Receipt of benefits
